Julie Andersen
has always been a passionate environmentalist, diver and lover of the oceans, with a special relationship with sharks. A lifelong entrepreneur, Julie is channeling over 14 years of professional experience in advertising and production to leverage media to save sharks. A grassroots activist, Julie is a founder and director of Shark Savers and she traverses the world as a shark defender, building support and personally confronting those threatening their survival. Currently, she resides in South Africa to lead the Angels’ nets campaign as well as the anti-finning efforts in Mozambique, while defending sharks through awareness and educational campaigns.
Paul Wildman
is an artist turned conservationist who utilizes graphic design, cinematography and photography as his canvas to deliver his critical message – that our oceans are in trouble. Having started two production companies, Paul leverages his commercial filmmaking background to deliver blue content that is edgy and highly thought provoking, challenging the boundaries of conservation productions. His diverse range of skills includes multimedia design, 2D animation, editing, sound, field production, and both underwater and topside camera work. His efforts have been featured globally in several broadcast productions.
Shawn Heinrichs
is a filmmaker, cinematographer, and marine conservationist, committed to protecting the environment he cherishes. As an independent filmmaker and founder of Blue Sphere Media, a production company specializing in underwater and adventure films, he has a unique opportunity to influence our collective mindset and globally fuel the blue movement. His award-winning work has been featured in broadcast, promotional and conservation productions around the world.
Kim McCoy
is an ocean defender with a special passion for sharks and is driven to ensure their survival. As the Director of Shark Conservation for the
Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, she believes in using aggressive non-violent methods to disrupt illegal shark fishing practices; these often result in controversial confrontations and dramatic face-offs on the high seas. What’s more, Kim is a committed vegan and animal rights activist who will take on anyone inflicting cruelty – especially those who commit the barbaric practice of shark finning.
Eric Cheng
was a computer scientist and cellist before he took a camera into the ocean and fell in love with it. Since then, he has become well known for his underwater imagery, which has been published in numerous magazines, books, and websites. Eric is also a passionate educator, giving workshops and seminars on underwater photography and marine life in locations around the world. At home in California, Eric owns and runs
Wetpixel.com, the premiere online resource for underwater photographers, and in 2007, he launched Wetpixel Quarterly, a print magazine featuring the best in underwater photography. Eric also writes a monthly column for Sport Diver Magazine, one of the largest scuba diving magazines in the world. And he has a special place in his heart for sharks.
