Where Does Your Adoption Go?
Proceeds from Shark Angels adoptions help support our Shark Conservation Internship Program.
Many students enter marine science because they want to make a difference, but traditional programs do not always teach them how conservation works outside the classroom. Shark Angels helps bridge that gap.
Our interns and mentees receive hands-on experience in areas such as:

- Conservation policy and legislation
- Public education and community outreach
- Advocacy and grassroots campaigns
- Digital media and storytelling
- Fundraising and nonprofit operations
They do not simply watch from the sidelines. They research shark protections, translate scientific studies for the public, create educational resources, support advocacy efforts and help build programs that protect sharks today.
The program has already mentored more than 40 future shark scientists and marine conservationists and generated more than 10,000 hours of intern-produced conservation work.

Shark Angels fulfills physical adoption kits in limited seasonal batches. This allows our small nonprofit team to personalize every adoption carefully and manage fulfillment responsibly.
Orders from this release are expected to ship beginning September 1st.

Rather than funding a commercial tracking subscription, your adoption helps develop the people, education and advocacy needed to create long-term change for sharks.

What comes with the adoption?
The adoption includes a shark plush, personalized certificate, species photograph and fact card, character sticker and a listing on the online Shark Adoption Wall.
Can I give the adoption as a gift?
Yes. Enter the recipient’s name, the shark’s name and the gift giver’s name when placing the order. We will personalize the adoption certificate with the information you provide.
Which shark species can I choose?
You can choose a great white shark, tiger shark, hammerhead shark, whale shark, mako shark or sawshark, subject to availability.
When will my adoption ship?
Physical adoption kits are fulfilled during limited seasonal releases. Orders placed during this release are expected to begin shipping on September 1st. Orders will only be accepted from July 27th, 2026 – August 27, 2026. Don’t miss your window!
Will my name appear online?
The shark name and the display name you provide may be listed on the Shark Angels Adoption Wall. Choose the privacy option during checkout if you do not want the recipient’s full name shown publicly.
Does my adoption help sharks?
Yes. Adoption proceeds support Shark Angels programs, with this release benefiting our Shark Conservation Internship and Mentorship Program. The program gives college and graduate students real-world conservation experience and professional guidance.
